8M at Imaginart. Rosalía Bronstein with “Videoart: The Veiled Voice.”

On the occasion of March 8 and as part of the second edition of Dones en l’Art by GAC, Imaginart presents “Videoart: The Veiled Voice”, a piece by Venezuelan artist Rosalía Bronstein.

Bronstein’s work is intimate and visceral in nature. Through photography, the artist captures the human body in its most vulnerable and primal state in order to evoke, in an essential way, questions of gender, sexuality, and spirituality. “Videoart: The Veiled Voice” is an audiovisual piece inspired by the exhibition “La Voz Velada” at Imaginart Gallery, held in 2024 in collaboration with the La Neomudéjar Museum in Madrid. The exhibition featured the work of Rada Akbar and Aidan Salakhova, two contemporary artists who address the situation of women in the Islamic world.

In solidarity with the millions of women forced to cover themselves with the burqa, Rosalía Bronstein denounces their invisibilization through the figure of a young woman who slowly disappears.
