Born in Monterrey, N. L. México, in 1972. Lorena Rodríguez works and lives in Monterrey, Hong Kong, Barcelona and New York. Her art work is main based in painting and drawing, as well as multidisciplinary practices in photography, sculpture, digital, installation and performance.
In 2010, a wave of insecurity crashed into Mexico. The 2nd of June of the same year, she and all of her family members were kidnapped at midnight by thirty heavily armed man. “that night I knew how a barrel’s handgun looks like in front of me, meanwhile I was genuflection on the floor. I saw for the first time a “cuerno de chivo” that near, and I witness the torture.”
