Ismael Smith (b. 1886, Barcelona, Spain – d. 1972, Barcelona, Spain) was a Catalan painter and sculptor who was active in the European avant-garde movements during the 20th century. His work is characterized by a synthesis between cubism and surrealism, exploring abstraction and figuration.
Smith was also a graphic designer and set designer, noted for his versatility and his contribution to the modernization of Catalan art. His work reflects a constant search for new visual languages and formal experimentation.
