Femme Femme

Nuria Martinez Seguer

8 May - 27 June 2025

Nommer femme belle de jour is a project by artist Núria Martínez Seguer, begun in 2002 and still in progress. It is a series of photographs—combining color with black and white—structured around the female body, which appears both explicitly and through the poetic metaphors created by the artist. Fruits, plants, and various objects are used here to allude to the female body, which often appears veiled or constricted. These images are used to weave a narrative that speaks to desire, eroticism, sexual and gender diversity, and female freedom, but also to illness, death, and memory. All these meanings intertwine to create new meanings that challenge and move us, without ever losing sight of the need for beauty as a generator of emotion.

In the exhibition Femme Femme , we present a collection of images comprised of some of the most iconic pieces from the series and a majority of more recent productions, previously unpublished. With this exhibition, Núria Martínez Seguer continues to demonstrate why we consider her one of the most interesting photographers on the current art scene.

Exhibition curated by Elina Norandi.
