Miquel Barceló (b. 1957, Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain) is a contemporary painter and sculptor noted for his exploration of matter and texture. His work is characterized by an experimental approach, with techniques that include the use of natural materials, pigments, and organic forms that reflect Mediterranean nature.
Barceló has developed projects in painting, sculpture, and public art, and is known for his ability to transform spaces with artistic interventions, such as the decoration of the Hypostyle Room at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. His work engages with Abstract Expressionism and Informalism and is marked by a constant exploration of perception and time.
