Núria Martínez Seguer (b. 1973, Santa Coloma de Gramenet) is an artist and photographer whose practice focuses on authorial documentary photography, with a particular interest in sport and, especially, boxing—a discipline that has shaped some of her most acclaimed projects. Working across photography and audiovisual media, she has developed a distinctive visual language characterized by strong contrasts, expressive intensity, and formal rigor.
Holding a PhD in Fine Arts with a specialization in Image Studies, Martínez Seguer has exhibited regularly since 2003. Among her most notable projects are Khaya (1998), Nommer Femme belle de jour (2010), Soul Round (2012), Round Art Boxa (2012), Sports as Seen from Art – Artium (2016), and 01 Fotògrafies (2019).
Her work has been featured in several exhibitions organized by Imaginart, including Mitologies de la llar (2023), alongside Mari Chordà, Sandra March, Elsa Plaza, and Marga Ximenez; L’altra cara de la lluna (2024); and Femme Femme (2025).
In 2004, she received the First National Prize at the Euro Press Photo Awards in the Sports category. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Palazzo Venezia in Rome, and is featured in Ciento dos artistas, a publication by art critic and historian Elina Norandi. In 2022, her work Silenci i Soul was acquired by the National Photography Plan (Pla Nacional de Fotografia).
